When Older Really WAS Better

"Sometimes upgrading to a newer version [of software] can be a good thing. Other times, your computer may not be compatible with the new version, the new version is bloated, or all the good options are no longer available." Old Version offers a virtual repository of software. The company also aims to provide spyware-free software so if you're worried about getting new software that often comes bundled with spyware, check this site.

Life as a Library Researcher

Life as a Library Researcher offers a glimpse into the research and checking done by researchers who work for the OED [Oxford English Dictionary], the source for uncovering etymology or the origin of words. The author, Brigid Allen, offers concrete examples of the type of research she conducts for the OED. All in all, an entertaining read for those of us who live in libraries.
