ERIC Launches New Web Site

ERIC launched a new web site on September 1, 2004. A new search interface for records is also available along with an advanced search capability. "The new site provides users with increased search capabilities utilizing simple, streamlined retrieval methods to access the existing ERIC bibliographic database (1966-2004). For example, users are now able to quickly refine search results through the use of keywords, publication date, publication type, or the ERIC thesaurus. In addition, the Web site provides users with the capability to save and rerun searches using the My ERIC personalization feature."

Search for Flash Files on Google

Adding to the list of filetypes you can search for using Google is Flash (filetype:.swf). Not sure when Google added this filetype to their list, but it's there now!

Check Web Quotes

Quote Finder uses Google to check the possible sources of every sentence of a submitted text. I checked the entry for the Yahoo! posting a couple of days ago on this blog and am suitably impressed with the results. I can see a use for this in copyright cases.
