Law Blogs - WSJ Article

Today's (7-22-04) Wall Street Journal has an article  on blawgs. The article features a blawg called Sentencing Law and Policy (http://sentencing.typepad.com) created by Douglas Berman, a law professor at Ohio State University (Columbus).  The blawg chronicles the effect of the Supreme Court's 5-4 ruling in Blakely v. Washington, which has been felt on federal sentencing guidelines.  Berman's competition is the Blakely Blog (Blakelyblog.blogspot.com), which was founded by Jason Hernandez, a law student at Columbia University.

Smaller Search Engines

Today's San Francisco Chronicle  reviews some alternatives to large search engines like Google and Yahoo, several of which you may have heard of and/or use now, such as clustering engine Vivisimo and Topix.net. Suggested sites worth a try include Find.com, focused on sources for business research (in beta) and the open source engine Mozdex. (Info from BeSpacific.com)
