The intellectual property collection at Pierce Law Library is considered one of the finest collections in the world. Services available include e-reference, interlibrary loan, and much, much more for students, faculty, staff, attorney members and government documents patrons.

SERVICES:  Circulation

As this is a research collection, most library materials do not circulate. Exceptions are single-volume, bound treatises, and single volume government documents. Most reserve items may be signed out for three hour periods of in-library use. Special Reserve items may be checked out for 24 hour use.

Franklin Pierce Law Center faculty, staff and students with current I.D.s, may check out library materials which circulate. Borrowing privileges are also available to members of the Law Library. Please return all borrowed materials to a desk assistant. If returned on or before the due date, the borrower’s responsibility for the materials is discharged.

OVERDUE MATERIALS

Borrowers are charged $.50 a day per title for circulating materials held after the date due. Materials may be renewed on or before the due date if not requested by another borrower. Overdue hourly reserve items are charged at $.50 an hour per title.

RESERVE MATERIALS

The Reserve collection is located behind the Circulation Desk. Faculty reserve materials, course textbooks, and other frequently used materials are kept on Reserve for the mutual benefit of the Law Center community. Access to the Reserve collection is through the online catalog. All non-GPO video and selected audio cassettes are kept on Reserve. Audio tapes on Reserve may be borrowed for 48 hours, outside library use.
